It is very easy to fall in love with the wonderful scent emitted by the rose or hibiscus flower. Leaves, roots and other parts of a plant also have natural fragrances, no wonder people find it soothing and relaxing to sit under the shade of a blooming tree in summer. Fortunately, aromatherapy experts have found a way to harness these plant fragrances into oils for use at homes and they are called essential oils.
Definition of an essential oil diffuser:
The essential oil diffuser is a portable device that disperses essential oils into the atmosphere. The oils are important because they permeate the brain, skin and senses and induce your mind and body towards relaxation.
The diffuser simplifies an age long practice called aromatherapy that involves the use of fragrant from plant’s stem, roots, flowers, bark etc. to stimulate psychological and physical wellness. This fragrant are believed to stimulate the brain to send stimuli to other parts of the body towards relaxation. This is one of the reasons why they are priced items in spa, cars, homes, fitness center, and offices and so on.
Types of essential oil diffuser
- Nebulizer diffuser: The essential oil fragrant emitting from this diffuser is very powerful because it doesn’t use heat, fan or water to disperse it. Instead, it is designed with an atomizer- similar to the top of a perfume- and disperses 100% undiluted essential oil into the air. It is quite common and more expensive than the other types.
- Ultrasonic diffuser: This diffuser uses water to disperse the essential oil aroma into the air as fine mist. Because of the water presence, it can also serve as a humidifier. However, the fragrant is not as highly concentrated as that from the nebulizer diffuser, but it is just as effective.
- Evaporative diffuser: This diffuser uses a fan to disperse essential oil fragrant through a filter or pad. The scents are not so strong like you would have in the nebulizer or ultrasonic diffuser, but they are effective for smaller air space like in the car.
- Heat diffuser: Like the name connote, heat energy is used to diffuse essential oil fragrant. The heat level can be high or low and is proportionate to the amount of essential oil fragrant concentrated in the air. The low level heat is however recommended so as not to heat up the atmosphere.
While essential oils can be applied directly into the body, or sprayed into the air, using a diffuser is more effective and highly recommended. Besides they are portable, easy to use and do not create a big hole in the pocket.
